Thomas Fenton is a professor in the Department of Agronomy at Iowa State University. He holds B.A. and M.A. degrees from the University of Illinois-Urbana, and a Ph.D. from Iowa State University. He specializes in soil morphology and genesis. His research program involves the soil survey of Iowa, which includes an investigation of soil-landscape relationships, the genesis of soils and the study of their properties, the effects of accelerated erosion on soil productivity and quality, and methods of delivery of soil survey information to users.
