Johan Six is Professional Researcher in the Department of Agronomy and Range Science at the University of California, Davis and a Research Scientist in the Natural Resource Ecology Laboratory (NREL), Colorado State University. His fields of interest include agroecosystem ecology, soil organic matter and aggregate dynamics, nutrient cycling, greenhouse gas fluxes and global change. Current funded projects focus on elucidating the factors and processes controlling soil organic matter and aggregate dynamics in temperate and tropical agro-, (af)forested and grassland ecosystems. More specifically, the projects investigate environmental and management effects on the interrelationship between soil biota (i.e. fungi and bacteria, earthworms, and roots), soil structure, soil mineralogy, and soil organic matter.
